1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Agape Calm mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Agape Calm is a spiritual wellness application that provides daily devotionals, guided meditations, prayer tools, an AI-powered prayer companion, sleep sounds, journaling, fasting tracking, scripture memory exercises, and related features. The App is designed to support your spiritual growth and wellbeing.

Important: Agape Calm is not a substitute for professional mental health care, counseling, or pastoral care. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741).

3. User Accounts

  • You may create an account using email/password, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Acceptable Use

When using the App, you agree not to:

  • Use the AI Prayer Companion to generate harmful, abusive, hateful, or inappropriate content
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limiting, or security measures
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App’s servers or infrastructure
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation

5. AI Prayer Companion

The AI Prayer Companion is powered by artificial intelligence and is designed to offer encouragement, scripture-based guidance, and prayer support. Please understand:

  • AI responses are generated by a language model and may not always be theologically precise
  • The AI companion is not a pastor, counselor, or therapist and should not be treated as one
  • Daily usage is limited to 25 messages per day per user
  • We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue the AI feature at any time
  • Do not share sensitive personal information (such as financial data or medical details) with the AI companion

6. Content and Intellectual Property

All content provided in the App — including devotionals, meditations, scripture selections, audio recordings, design elements, and code — is the property of Agape Calm or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

Scripture quotations are used under applicable fair use and licensing provisions. Bible text is provided for personal devotional use.

User-generated content (journal entries, prayers, notes) remains your property. By using the App, you grant us no rights to your personal content.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. Journal entries are encrypted on your device. Most personal data is stored locally and never transmitted to our servers.

8. Service Availability

  • We strive to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
  • Features that require internet access (AI companion, audio streaming, account sync) may be unavailable during outages
  • Offline features (cached audio, local journal, breathing exercises) will continue to work without connectivity
  • We may release updates that require you to install a new version of the App

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted. We do not make any warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any content provided through the App, including AI-generated responses.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Agape Calm and its creators, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time through the App’s settings or by contacting us.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
